Existing home process:

  • Over skimming over old plaster if necessary

  • Taking away any old / damaged plaster

  • Filling in any cracks

New home process:

  • Dry lining

  • Preparation (mesh)

  • Applying first coat of multi-finish

  • Apply second layer of finish

  • flattening down plaster removing all streaks

Trusted Material

The usual material we use for dry lining is usually Thistle, this material is brilliant for smooth or low suction backgrounds, making it much easier to spread and finish. An ideal undercoat on new walls.

We also use Thistle multi-finish as we think its a great product, leaving a crisp finish without the added price tag.

  • Thistle provides a sound insulation improvement of up to 2dB for some GypWall systems

  • Providing airtightness and seals gaps, limiting flanking routes for sound transfer

  • The smooth consistent surface, leaving it ideal for painting or decorating.

Before.

Rendering consists of:

  • Removing old render (if cracking)

  • Applying baselayer with or without insulation (what your needs are)

  • Adding reinforcing mesh

  • Applying second coat

  • Roller to stop suction

  • Final finishing coal silicon render

Trusted Material

The material we trust and have had the best results with are being supplied by Johnstones Stormshield.

We have been using Johnstones since the beginning, after testing other types of materials nothing comes close to the level of consistency and performance.

Their base-coat is a cement based polymer render used for external wall insulation systems or as part of a direct render solution. Not once have we had a client call back to fix any crack since the our beginning.
